Event Info:
Habitat for Humanity – New York City is pleased to announce our First-Ever Singles Build on Saturday, March 22, 2008. Come have fun building affordable housing while meeting other socially-conscious young professional singles. We are looking for 25 women and 25 men to become construction-workers-for-a-day. To keep the event balanced, we ask you sing up with an unattached friend of the opposite sex. Singles will learn how to install metal framing or hang drywall, working in a small team in the morning and changing teams in the afternoon. To participate in this build:
  • You must be a single man and single woman between the ages of 21 to 40
  • Must bring an unattached friend of the opposite sex
  • Raise a minimum on $300 per pair
  • Be able to pound, hull and lift for seven hours
  • third bullet
Due to the size of the building - and to ensure site safety - we can only accommodate 25 volunteers pairs on site. Habitat-NYC will provide lunch, a t-shirt, and lots of mingle time. When you sign up to raise a hammer on the first-ever Single Build Day, you also commit to raise a minimum of $300 (per pair) that helps build affordable housing in New York City for low-income working families in need. Only one person from the pair needs to register and create a fundraising page. To secure your spots, the pair must have the minimum $300 goal in by Friday, March 7, 2008. Space is limited. Volunteer slots may fill up prior to the deadline date of Friday, March 7, 2008 - So begin your fundraising today! If you and a friend want to be part of Single Build 2008 register now!
